History

cumming_ga_preschoolThe journey of White Oak Learning Academies began in 1996 with the original facility, Kid's Korner, in Forsyth County, Georgia. Founders Arthur and Elaine Wright are natives of the community with backgrounds in education. Arthur served on the Forsyth County school board for sixteen years and is an active deacon of Salem Baptist Church. Elaine raised her three boys while teaching music in the Forsyth County School system until her retirement in 2006. Kid's Korner was an instant success in the North Georgia area and soon the Wrights' sons became involved. Devin Wright, the eldest, purchased North Georgia Kid's Academy in Dawsonville, Georgia. He and his wife Susan, who teaches high school science, have three beautiful children and are active members at Concord Baptist Church. Devin serves on the board of the Georgia Childcare Association and has held positions as both its treasurer and president.

In 2010 Kid's Korner and North Georgia Kid's Academy combined to better serve their community and share their renewed focus. Now White Oak Learning Academy, the Wright family's mission of "consistently providing high quality education and care that stimulate self-esteem and growth in a stable, nurturing, Christ-centered environment" is well underway. Students at White Oak Learning Academy receive individualized care, proven methods of instruction, and character education based on Christian principles, preparing them for success academically and socially.
